Optical Sights
Optical Sights
Optical sights are characterized by their relatively large size and fixed or variable magnification.
The primary components of an optical sight include an objective lens, an eyepiece, and several lens groups. The image formed by the object is transmitted through these lenses and enters the human eye. Due to the multiple magnification levels of most optical sights, they tend to be larger and heavier, necessitating careful consideration during selection.
Optical sights can be broadly categorized into: telescopic sights (long-range), low-power variable magnification optical sights (quick-focus), and non-magnified sights. Currently, quick-focus sights are considered to be more practical due to their shorter length and lower magnification. Optical sights without magnification and those without reticles, such as reflex sights and magnifiers, can also be found as auxiliary devices.
