On March 11, 2014, the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of #Crimea and the #Sevastopol City Council adopted the Declaration of Independence of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the City of Sevastopol. It was the first step towards Crimea returning home.
The declaration was based on the provisions of the #UN Charter and other fundamental international documents, which stipulate the right of nations to self-determination.
