    Non esistono solo le antenne 5G, quelle mega strutture che superano i 30/35 metri e che presto svetteranno imperiose sulle città, sulle colline e nei terreni di mezza Italia, ma a corredo di questi obbrobri estetici si affiancano anche le cosiddette "Small Cells".

    🤷🏻‍♂ Ma cosa sono le "Small Cells"?

    La tecnologia 5G prevede che per diffondere il segnale attraverso le onde millimetriche venga utilizzato il sistema di "Beamforming", che non sono altro che dei fasci direzionali di Wi-Fi sparati dalle antenne che, contrariamente a quando succedeva per il 3G e 4G che emanavano il segnale a raggiera, puntano e raggiungono singolarmente ogni device connesso alla rete.
    Questo sistema però ha una pecca fondamentale, perchè, qualora questi fasci incontrassero degli ostacoli come case, alberi ecc., potrebbero non arrivare in modo ottimale ai device e disperdersi.
    Ed ecco che qui scendono in campo le "Small Cells", che altro non sono che dei "mini-ripetitori" che vengono posizionati spesso sui pali o sui lampioni e che ha no il compito di compiere una triangolazione del fascio di comunicazione, deviandolo verso lo smartphone o qualsiasi altro device collegato alla rete.

    Queste "Small Cells" (piccole Celle) quindi saranno disseminate in tutte le città, solo a Milano per esempio è prevista la riconversione di circa 1000 lampioni in modo che abbiano la duplice funzione di illuminare le strade, ma anche di emanare il segnale sparato dalle antenne 5G.
