Several grades of stainless steel are commonly used in CNC machining, each with its own specific properties:

304 Stainless Steel: This is the most widely used grade due to its excellent corrosion resistance, formability, and weldability. It is suitable for a wide range of applications, including food processing equipment, automotive parts, and architectural components.

316 Stainless Steel: This grade offers superior corrosion resistance, especially in marine environments and applications involving exposure to chloride ions. It is commonly used in marine hardware, chemical processing equipment, and medical devices.

410 Stainless Steel: This martensitic stainless steel is known for its high strength and hardness. It is often used in cutlery, springs, and other components that require high durability.

316L Stainless Steel: This low-carbon version of 316 stainless steel is used in applications where welding is required, as it has a lower risk of weld decay.
